General Information & Requirements
The minimum age to volunteer at Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is 10 years old. Volunteers between the age of 10 and 15 must volunteer with an adult. Volunteer 16-17 must volunteer with parental permission. Unfortunately there are no volunteer opportunities for youth under 10 at SFBFS.
All prospective volunteers must attend a 1-hour volunteer orientation in order to be eligible to become a volunteer. During orientation, volunteers will learn about the organization’s history, programs and open volunteer positions. Click here for more information about volunteer orientation.
Some programs require volunteers to be a minimum of 18 years of age and the volunteer must pass a background check prior to staring their volunteer service.
